Carroll-based mental health organization brings care directly to Iowa students

A Carroll-based student mental health organization showed the state’s educators how they can bring care directly to Iowa students. Classroom Clinic shared their services at the Iowa Association of School Boards convention. They offer care through telehealth, which allows the organization to help students statewide. Spencer’s school superintendent, Terry Hemann, told Local 5 how his students have been impacted by the program.
“We’ve seen improvements in behaviors for some of these students and also in some of their academics as well,” said Hemann. “In some cases, students that might need med management services might be able to better focus in class because they’re getting the right medications that they need.”
Hammond also said the mental health services are desperately needed for many of the youth in Iowa schools.
Schools can schedule meetings with Classroom Clinic at their website, classroomclinic.com.
